Description
Diamond twill in cornflower blue/salmon is a patterned wool fabric made of sheep’s wool in carded yarn by the metre. The combination of clear cornflower blue and warm salmon looks colourful, friendly and eye-catching without appearing too restless. Wool Diamond Twill ( in Cornflower Blue/Salmon 450g ) is particularly suitable for garments where the weave structure may be visible: tunics, dresses, trousers, skirts, trimmings, bags and accessories. The fabric is 150 cm wide and has a weight of approx. 450 g/mtr.
The diamond twill weave gives the fabric a clearly recognizable structure and makes it more lively than a smooth woolen cloth. With its medium weight, the fabric has enough substance for clothing and trimmings, but remains more flexible than heavy loden qualities. The alternation of cornflower blue and salmon is particularly interesting for historical clothing, LARP and reenactment, because the fabric immediately brings depth and pattern to a robe.
Wool Diamond Twill Cornflower Blue Salmon 450g: Uses and Combinations
The wool fabric is well suited for tunics, dresses and trousers. This diamond twill can also be suitable for skirts, trimmings, bags, accessories, cowl, cotte, doublet, lining layers, LARP, reenactment and historical garments . Especially with simple cuts, the weave structure comes into its own, because the pattern gives the fabric a special effect on its own.
Diamond twill is a good choice if you don’t want a garment to look quite plain. For trimmings, the fabric can be used specifically as an eye-catcher, for example on sleeves, hems, pocket flaps or edges. For larger garments, cornflower blue/salmon looks colourful and lively, but remains more natural than a printed fabric due to the woven structure.
The cornflower blue/salmon colour combination combines well with wool, loden, linen and other natural tones. It looks particularly beautiful together with off-white, natural linen, cream white, grey, dark brown, midnight blue, indigo blue, burgundy red or muted green tones. As a patterned wool fabric, this diamond twill is suitable for both eye-catching main pieces and special accents to calmer fabrics.
