Note on fabric selection: For historical clothing, reenactment, LARP, costume, theatre and uniforms, natural fabrics such as wool fabric, loden, cloth loden and linen are especially popular. Which fabric is suitable always depends on the project: period, cut, desired drape, warmth, colour, care and processing all play an important role.

Studios and tailors can help with garments, dresses, skirts, tunics, coats, cloaks, waistcoats, doublets, cottes, cappas or other historical garments.
For reenactment and LARP
Anyone who wants reenactment clothing or LARP garments made should coordinate fabric, cut, durability and wearing comfort with the tailor.
For uniforms, costume and theatre
For historical uniforms, theatre costumes or special made-to-measure pieces, material, colour, feel, weight and historical effect are especially important.

If you have already chosen a fabric, it is best to discuss with the tailor before buying how many metres of fabric are needed and whether weight, width, drape and material composition suit the planned pattern.
