Information for Event Organisers and Market Managers
As a professional fabric retailer, we are happy to receive invitations to events throughout Europe. Markets and events with visitors from our main target group are especially suitable: historical costume enthusiasts, LARP, reenactment, living history and people with advanced expectations regarding portrayal, historical clothing and material quality.
TuchundStoff offers high-quality fabrics for garments, costumes and uniforms made from pure natural fibres. Our range includes wool fabrics, cloth, loden, linen, uniform fabrics and suitable fabrics for historical clothing, reenactment, LARP and tailoring.
Our product range for historical markets, LARP and reenactment
Our range is aimed at customers who are not simply looking for any fabric, but for suitable materials for clothing, historical garments, uniforms, reenactment, LARP, living history, theatre, costume and tailoring.
Wool fabrics, cloth and loden
For coats, cloaks, tunics, jackets, uniform parts, hoods, cottas, doublets and robust historical garments.
Linen and natural fabrics
For shirts, undergarments, summer garments, tunics, dresses and many projects with a natural material appearance.
Advice at the market stand
Many visitors appreciate the opportunity to touch fabrics directly, compare colours and clarify material questions on site.
Stand location: close to storage, access and sun protection
We prefer to be located near the storage area rather than directly by the stage. Our stand should be directly accessible by van. Because of soot and sparks, the stand location should not be in the immediate vicinity of a blacksmith or similar craft.
Since linen and some fabric colours can fade under strong sunlight, we prefer stand locations that are largely facing away from the sun or at least not permanently in full sun.
Stand sizes and space requirements
We have various freestanding stands that we use depending on the event. The exact stand depends on the event, available space, ground conditions and target audience.
Show stand sizes and requirements
Stand type | Required space | Special features |
|---|---|---|
Medieval tent stand | approx. 8 m × 3 m = 24 m² in total |
Tent approx. 6 m × 3 m × 3.5 m including guy ropes, plus an activity table
of approx. 2 m × 3 m. Open to the front as standard; an additional open side
is welcome. |
Viking tent stand | approx. 4 m × 4 m × 2.5 m = 16 m² |
Including guy ropes. This stand requires ground into which tent pegs can be
driven. |
Trade fair stand | ideally approx. 7 m × 3 m |
A bright stand with daylight is ideal so that fabric colours can be recognised well. |
Loom demonstration | additional approx. 2 m × 2 m |
Possible if the organiser would like a demonstration of the cloth-weaving craft. |
Pictures of our market stands and trade fair stands
The following pictures show examples of our stands. Depending on the event, space and ground conditions, we choose the appropriate setup.

Historical loom and craft demonstration
If it suits the event, we can demonstrate the craft of cloth weaving on a faithful medieval-style loom. This is especially interesting for historical markets, living-history events, educational programmes and thematically suitable events.
For this demonstration, we need approximately 2 × 2 metres of additional stand space. Please let us know in your enquiry whether a loom demonstration is desired and whether the additional space can be planned.
What we need for an event enquiry
The more complete the enquiry is, the better we can assess whether the event is a good fit for TuchundStoff and which stand setup makes sense.
