Diamond twill, also known as lozenge twill, is a weave with a diamond-shaped structure. The surface appears lively without being too busy and can look very different depending on colour, yarn and material.

Especially with wool fabrics and fabrics containing natural fibres, this weave can develop a special depth. This makes diamond twill interesting for historical clothing, reenactment, LARP, medieval-inspired garments, but also for modern tailoring and distinctive individual pieces.

What is diamond twill suitable for?

Diamond twill fabric by the metre is suitable for many projects depending on the quality: clothing, overgarments, tunics, dresses, skirts, jackets, coats, bags, accessories or textile furnishing. For historical representation, lozenge twill is often used because the structure has a traditional look and combines well with linen, wool, loden and other natural fabrics.

Depending on the range, diamond twill fabrics may be made from wool, linen, silk, fibre blends or other materials. A wool fabric in diamond twill weave often feels firm and warm.
